“We feel like the most important aspect of our Football Program is to give
our young  men an opportunity to play on God’s team. FCA camp plays a vital role in helping us achieve this most important goal.”
Coach Chris Liner, Head Football Coach, Ninety Six High School

“We had a great competition on the field, and it was an incredible night to watch God work.
It is amazing what God will do if we will just get out of His way and let Him work!”
Coach Jamie Nickles, Abbeville High School

The Greenwood High School Girls’ Basketball Team attends FCA Team Basketball Camp each summer. This team is led by Coach Susan Thompson. She reported that the GHS Lady Eagles said FCA is a “Faithful Community of Athletes.”

Parents Reaching Out

Abbeville High School PRO Team hosted a Girls’ Night Out. Over 90 high school and college girls attended for a night of fellowship, food, and an awesome message on not compromising their values in life and allowing God to lead their lives. All the food, drinks, and T-shirts were donated by local businesses! WOW! All God asks of us is to provide Him an outlet to work, and He will take care of the rest.

FCA TEAM CIA, which stands for Christ in Action and Christ in All, started last year at Wright Middle School. This organization is made up of parents and other adults and is similar to the AHS PRO Team. CIA fed the football teams and cheerleaders, thanks to First Baptist Church and Cypress Chapel AME Church. With meals provided by Mount Pleasant Baptist, Washington Presbyterian, and Cypress Chapel AME Churches, they fed the girls’ and boys’ basketball teams. AHS Senior Dureal Elmore shared his testimony with the basketball teams (see photo). The Wright Middle School Huddle meets every other Friday at 7:45 AM with 100+ members.

Team Chaplins

“When I was young and still playing sports so many wonderful people placed a lot of love and care into my life. I just feel it's about time I put some love and care back into young people today. There is no better way to do that than to give them Jesus.”

Dr. Ted Williams, Team Chaplin, Boys’ Basketball and JV Baseball, Greenwood High School; FCA Huddle at Cambridge Academy.

The Lander University coaches meet every Tuesday morning during the Fall and Spring semesters for Bible study and prayer. They are currently studying one of the books from the FCA “FOUR CORE” entitled “Excellence.” It is an hour well spent encouraging and praying for one another.

Rev. Tommy Tucker, Football and Soccer Team Chaplain at Ninety Six High School reports that they are working on a summer mission trip and have started an official club in the school for the soccer team that is focused on Christian mission. Soccer practice officially began on February 1, and he plans to be with the team and travel with them again this season. He and Coach Chris Liner are planning to get the football team together for a movie and cookout to kick off the spring training season!

Greenwood Christian School has started an FCA Huddle with 30 high school students! It is exciting to see 30% of the high school student enrollment at GCS participate in the inaugural FCA Huddle Meeting, and they are excited about this ministry!
