Level Playing Field

Students in middle school, high school, and college participate in all types of sports and activities on all different kinds of fields... competitive or just for fun. But are they playing on a level field? According to John 14:6 “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” and Romans 3:22-24 “This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Christ teaches that we are all on a “Level Playing Field”; salvation is available to all who believe and know the only way is through the cross. What influences are shaping the minds and beliefs of students today? Do they know about this “Level Playing Field”? Do they know these simple truths? Do they believe these truths? Worldy views contradict these truths and have a strong influence on today’s youth.

  • More than 80% of youth who attend church will stop going between the 7th grade and 12th grade.
  • 29 million teenagers in public and secondary schools – 75% of them do not have faith in Christ
  • 83% of teens maintain that moral truth depends on circumstances.
  • Only 6% of teens believe that moral truth is absolute.
